Daimler

The Daimler DE36, introduced in 1948, had a Straight Eight engine of 5,460cc. Only 205 vehicles were produced, either as saloons, limousines, drop head coupés, or as specials. Britian's last production straight eight was the basis for the ostentacious Docker Specials, in particular the Green Goddess, which so upset many British people in the austerity period of the late forties and early fifties. Production of the DE36 ceased in 1953.
